“Next in importance to freedom and justice is popular education, without which neither freedom nor justice can be permanently maintained.”

This Campaign emerges in response to the violent, ongoing and systematic repression of the Colombian University Community on the part of the Colombian Government and paramilitary groups. We aim to protect the Public University in Colombia as pillar of democratic society and to put a stop to the criminalisation of social protest and State repression of resistance by means of ongoing national and international solidarity so that the abuse of human rights diminishes and eventually disappears.

This site explains why and how we aim achieve this and also to provide a space for the denunciation of human rights abuses against the University Community, the correlation of data regarding such abuses and discussion of solutions. This is a project in construction and there remains much work still to be done. We are open to suggestions and ideas and want to involve as many people as feasible.
